Overcoming Jealousy

Are you interested in how to stop being jealous?

Jealousy in relationships is a damaging and exhausting fear-based emotion. Caused by a combination of anger, self-doubt and insecurity. If we do nothing about overcoming jealously it can have catastrophic effects on any relationship – be it platonic, familial or sexual. Overcoming jealously can make life easier and open many positive possibilities. If you need to know how to deal with jealousy, I can assist you.

Jealousy should not be confused with envy (which is wanting what someone else has). Jealousy occurs when we have what we want, but are terrified of losing it. Understanding this is a key fact in knowing the right methods for overcoming jealousy.

Unfortunately, should jealousy be left unchecked, it can cause behaviors and actions that directly lead to the irretrievable breakdown of a relationship – and the very event we were so afraid of. Knowing how to cope with jealousy, and then how to stop jealousy can stop all of this happening.

How to start overcoming jealousy:

  • Be honest and objective – are the things that are making you jealous trivial or really important? It is imperative that you be able to tell the difference.
  • Don’t overreact – fearing loss of reputation, relationship or control is no excuse for extreme behaviour; allowing your feelings to rage amok will only make things worse.
  • Develop independence – attaching all of your social interactions to one person leaves you open to risk – and therefore fear; boosting your self esteem will help you to separate your self image from that of someone else.

Hypnosis and NLP can help you to focus your mind on overcoming jealously, assess your interpretation of your relationships and develop control over this very damaging emotion, overcoming jealousy and moving onto more positive emotions and better relationships.
